Targeting machine-tool software development to expand Circular Digital-Engineering business

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has recently announced that it has agreed to strategically partner with and invest in ModuleWorks GmbH, a leading software component provider for the digital manufacturing industry. The agreement builds on Mitsubishi Electric's ongoing collaboration with ModuleWorks, a highly regarded developer of cutting-edge CAD/CAM solutions, for the development of advanced technologies to generate machining-tool paths2 and conduct machine-tool simulations.

Mitsubishi Electric has opened a manufacturing facility for advanced factory automation (FA) systems in the Talegaon Industrial area, Maharashtra, India. The 2.2 billion INR (24.5 million EUR) facility will manufacture inverters and other FA products, expanding the company’s capabilities to meet growing demand across Indian industries such as automobiles, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, data centres and textiles.

Mitsubishi Electric has launched the MELFA RV-12CRL vertical articulated robot, which offers 1,504 mm reach and 12 kg payload capacity. The robot’s wide effective working area makes it suitable for a variety of processes and industries, including food & beverage, automotive, lithium-ion battery manufacturing, logistics and warehousing. Users will also be able to take advantage of built-in functions that streamline implementation, enhance safety and reduce downtime.
